ABOUT FOOD-CONTACT PE SEALANT LAYERS (30-120 MICRONS)
Food-Contact Sealant Layers are polyethylene (PE) films formulated to serve specifically as the inner, food-contact sealing layer in multi-layer laminates. Produced to ISO 22000:2018 food-safety standards (under EN 14644 cleanroom conditions where required), these films deliver hygienic, heat-sealable surfaces and stable processing for high-speed converting and pouching lines. Supplied in gauges from 30–120 μm, they are engineered to provide reliable hot-tack and seal performance even in the presence of liquid or particulate contaminates.
APPLICATIONS & PURPOSES
Used across food manufacturing, processing and flexible-packaging operations, these films function as the sealant component in laminated stand-up pouches, bag-in-box liners, FFS rollstock, thermoform lids and more. They are suitable for adhesive- or thermo-lamination alongside oxygen/aroma barrier layers (EVOH, PA, AlOx, etc.) for perishable or strong-smelling food items, and are compatible with retort applications when specified in the laminate build.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
- Sealant performance: Fine-tuned hot-tack for strong, reliable heat-sealing, even through liquid and dry contaminants.
- Hygienic & certified: Manufactured to ISO 22000:2018 for direct food-contact, with EN 14644 cleanroom grades available.
- Processing compatibility: Stable on high-speed converting lines and suitable for adhesive and thermo-lamination.
- Thickness range: Available in 30–120 μm for different sealing and strength requirements.
- Laminate partner-ready: Designed to work with barrier films (EVOH, PA, AlOx) and other functional layers to meet shelf-life and barrier targets.
