ABOUT SHRINK HOOD
Shrink Hood seals pallet-loads under a protective film with the application of heat. Once top-sealed and fitted, the oversized tubular film is heat-shrunk down to the size of the load, creating a close-fitting cover that holds it in place and protects it from all five directions (minus the underside). This preserves goods during transport and storage, while offering branding opportunites through the addition of large, continuous print designs. Suitable for a wide range of pallet sizes, it is a tried-and-tested method of securing palletized goods.
APPLICATIONS & PURPOSES
Shrink Hood offers an effective solution for industries dealing with light pallet-loads stored outdoors or exposed to harsh conditions. Its heat-shrink seal reinforces load stability, while protecting against dust, moisture and sunlight. The film is particularly suited for non-uniform and sensitive goods, providing a securing force that adapts to irregular shapes without damaging delicate contents. This makes it a practical choice for companies maintaining older palletizers to ensure goods remain secure throughout the supply chain.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
- Heat-shrink technology: Conforms tightly to different pallet-loads for added stability and security.
- Complete (five-sided) coverage: Guards against dust, moisture, and sunlight during storage and transport.
- Non-uniform & versatile load handling: Adapts to irregular shapes while applying a gentle, safe securing force to sensitive products.
- Long-term durability: Maintains long-term load integrity during handling, transit, and storage.
- Branding potential: Supports large, continuous print designs with minimal deformation.
- Legacy palletizer compatibility: Designed for use with existing heat-shrink systems still in operation.
